Pacific Northwest winters aren’t so gloomy when your office smells like a mixture of hot cocoa and toasty brownies, fresh from the oven. Yes, I work in a chocolate factory. Theo Chocolate, to be specific. Most mornings I wake up, drink copious amounts of coffee (did I mention I live in Seattle?) and zip over to a little brick factory about ten minutes away from where I call home.

As marketing manager, my days often boil down to how to best communicate our unique story as the very first organic and fair trade-certified chocolate maker in North America. Since 2006, Theo has been making chocolate bars and other tasty confections in Seattle’s quirky Fremont neighborhood. For the past two years, I’ve been lucky enough to spend my days thinking about, talking about, and most importantly, eating chocolate.
